A 27-year-old woman from Wisconsin is dead after a two-car collision in Milwaukee during the early morning hours on July 30. The car accident, which occurred on the city’s south side at about 3:15 a.m., also left two other people injured. Authorities say that the decedent in this case was a passenger in a vehicle that was struck by a negligent driver.
Investigators report that the 30-year-old at-fault driver was reportedly driving north on S. 11th Street when he disregarded a red light at the intersection with W. Mitchell. The man plowed into the decedent’s vehicle, which was eastbound at the time of the collision. Authorities say that the at-fault driver suffered serious injuries in the collision. They anticipate filing charges if that man recovers from his injuries.
Also hurt in the accident was a 28-year-old Milwaukee man who was behind the wheel of the eastbound car. That man was the decedent’s husband, according to news reports; the couple have two young children together. The husband suffered a skull fracture in the crash. An initial investigation shows that the decedent suffered fatal injury in the car accident because of the massive impact to the passenger side of the vehicle. It is still not clear whether the airbag deployed in this case.
At-fault drivers who cause serious driver injuries deserve to be held accountable by Milwaukee car crash lawyers. Similarly, if a vehicle malfunctions and airbags do not appropriately deploy, Milwaukee car collision attorneys may be able to pursue legal action against the vehicle manufacturer. Enlisting the help of a legal team can help victims who have suffered the loss of a loved one learn more about their legal rights in court.
